Prioritizes and organizes work to meetthe changing needs of the unit and patient careneeds.Authority:To coordinate and make decisionsregarding patient care.Communication:Develops collaborativerelationship with supervising physician determining need and timingof communications. Exchange routine medical information withappropriate members of the health care team while maintainingpatient confidentiality.MinimumQualifications:Bachelor’s degree; Certification by the NCCPA orsimilar national certifying body; Completion of a CAAHEP certifiedPhysician Assistant program. Must be licensed as PA in State ofMaryland or other state where practicing. Requires minimumof 3 years experience in related clinical area, and obtainedproficiency in area of specialty. Prefer at least 5 yearsexperience. Residency or fellowship programs in area ofspecialization may substitute for some experience,as permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.Current CPR certification required. Must maintain current licensureand certification during duration of employment. Completion of theJHH credentialing process is required prior to startdate.JHU Equivalency Formula:30 undergraduate degree credits(semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute forone year of experience. Additional related experience maysubstitute for required education on the same basis.
