Italian coffee brand Lavazza has revealed plans to open up to 400 shops in the UK, over the next decade. The coffee shops would be opened in a new store format for the UK – Lavazza Espression. There is currently only one standalone unit, in Manchester’s Trafford Centre, but property consultant Cushman & Wakefield has just been appointed to advise on the UK roll-out.The company will shortly be opening outlets in Derby, Leeds, Newbury, and London, with 50 shops planned for Greater London in the next three years.Lavazza’s first Espression coffee shop to open in the capital will be on Villiers Street in April, followed by one on Cannon Street in June.Launched in 2007, in Turin, Lavazza Espression outlets serve a variety of hot drinks, Italian food, including sandwiches, paninis, pizzas and salad, and more than 40 non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.Matt Ilingworth, partner at Cushman & Wakefield, said: “Lavazza Espression is a new and exciting concept which will give UK customers a real taste and experience of Italy on their doorstep. The concept really offers something unique amongst other coffee brands and we see it becoming a favourite on our high street and in shopping centres throughout the UK.”The roll-out in the UK forms part of a wider international expansion plan, which includes openings in North America, Western and Eastern Europe, Far and Middle East and South America.

Among the loose ends is their property portfolio, which while not the biggest built up by Queensland celebrities, does do something special – giving back to the troops via property. The pair have two defence housing properties as investments, both of which are four bedders.More from newsParks and wildlife the new lust-haves post coronavirus14 hours agoNoosa’s best beachfront penthouse is about to hit the market14 hours agoOne — that they’ve owned in Eaton’s Hill in Carys’ name since 2010 – has just hit the market while the other in James’ name at Albany Creek since 2012 is still sitting pretty.Mrs Courtney, who announced the couple’s separation on Instagram last year, has listed the Eatons Hill property for $610,000.The Courtneys had paid $495,000 for the property nine years ago. North Korea is yet to announce the city name.South Korea aims to jointly host the Summer Olympics with North Korea. New Delhi: South Korea has picked its capital Seoul for its bid for the 2032 summer Olympics, which it aims to jointly host with North Korea. The Koreas will officially inform the International Olympic Committee of their decision to bid at an event in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Friday.North Korea is expected to announce its candidate city later this week – the likely choice is its capital Pyongyang – before or during the IOC meeting, reportedly. The decision to pursue a joint bid – as well as to jointly participate in the 2020 Tokyo Summer Games – was made following a series of inter-Korean talks last year, as cross-border reconciliation gathered pace.In a meeting held by the country’s Olympic committee on Monday, Seoul edged out its rival, the southern port city of Busan.Seoul mayor Park Won-soon said he would ensure the bid serves as an opportunity to “change the fate of the Korean peninsula”.”If the 1988 Seoul Olympics was ‘reconciliation Olympics’ amid the cold war between East and West and the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics was a touchstone of peace, the 2032 Olympics will be promoted to become the last stop to establish the peace”. The last time Seoul hosted the summer Olympics, in 1988, Pyongyang boycotted the Games. But in recent months the Koreas have turned to sports diplomacy to ease tensions.During the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics last year, North Korea sent leader Kim Jong Un’s sister, Kim Yo Jong, to express the reclusive regime’s interest in an inter-Korean summit. The unified Korean women’s ice hockey team was also a symbol of unity in Pyeongchang, despite losing all their games and finishing last.Kim Jong Un went on to meet with South Korean President Moon Jae-in three times in the wake of the Games and held a landmark summit with US President Donald Trump in Singapore in June. However, the joint bid poses some difficulties. North Korea is subject to economic sanctions and these are unlikely to be lifted by the UN Security Council unless Pyongyang takes firmer steps toward denuclearization. highlights

Reports of a serious rift between Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas and his players dominate today’s newspapers. It is believed that Sunday’s training-ground summit attended by club owner Roman Abramovich turned into a heated argument between Villas-Boas and the squad. And the Daily Telegraph suggest Abramovich is preparing to fire the 34-year-old, with the availability of Guus Hiddink a factor in AVB’s possible fate.AVB is believed to be on borrowed time. The paper say sources close to Abramovich have indicated that he may have lost patience and is thinking of making a change. The Daily Mail also suggest Hiddink features in Abramovich’s thoughts and that the Russian billionaire is considering alternatives to the under-fire AVB.The Guardian reports that AVB sparked a blazing row with some of his senior players during Sunday’s meeting. He is said to have tore into members of his team only for them to hit back by making it clear what they thought of him and his tactics. The Daily Mirror say the players voiced concerns about his management methods and team selection, but also that Abramovich made it clear to them that he still backs his manager. The Sun believe only three players – David Luiz, Ramires and Jose Bosingwa – are fully behind AVB.The rest, it is claimed, do not care if he is sacked and a source is quoted as saying: “His plans are obviously not working.“The atmosphere in the dressing room is tense and more and more players are beginning to wonder if he’s the right man for the job.”The Daily Star also report the apparent dressing-room backlash, which followed a dismal display in the 2-0 defeat at Everton the previous day.Meanwhile, based on reports in the French media, a number of papers are running a story about Lille midfielder Eden Hazard hinting that he could join Tottenham this summer rather than Chelsea. And the Mail say Fulham want Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez, who has also attracted interest from Southampton, Newcastle, Bolton and Everton.Follow West London Sport on TwitterFind us on Facebook

Yet rhinos still continue to be poached at unprecedented rates. While WWF SA said in a press release that there is no single solution to the poaching scourge and that it would have to work strategically to combat rhino poaching and operate on numerous fronts. “A key part of our approach is to work collaboratively with rural communities living near game reserves and to provide people in those communities with the skills to manage their natural resources – including rhinos. In return, they reap the benefits of wildlife tourism while continuing to be custodians of rhinos for future generations.”Give our rhinos a lift! If your natural reflex when the weather gets rough is to tweet about it, that reflex can now help the National Weather Service do its job better thanks to a new Twitter storm reporting program. The NWS has always solicited severe weather reports from the public. After all, no amount of technology can ever be a substitute for an accurate report of what’s actually happening on the ground. Because of the new Twitter geolocation API and the increasing number of applications that support it (TweetDeck for iPhone is the latest to add geotagging support), it’s become very simple for the public to submit severe weather reports and for the NWS to pinpoint where they happened. How does it work? According to the program’s documentation, a system monitors Twitter for tweets starting with the hashtag #wxreport. These tweets are then plotted on a Google map using the tweet’s geolocation information, or in cases where the geotag data is not available, an approximation of the reporter’s location within the tweet using the format WW [location] WW. Finally, the report is relayed to the appropriate NWS field office for use by the office’s meteorologists in a variety of ways, including possible inclusion in an official storm report. It’s not just the NWS that could benefit, either. The public already will be more informed simply by watching the #wxreport tag, regardless of whether one of those reports is released in an official storm report. Sites such as Weather Underground, which already hosts an extensive network of citizen-owned weather stations, could further integrate these reports into its own products. Media outlets monitoring Twitter for storm information can use the tweets in their own reporting; The Weather Channel already does a good job of this. You can see some of these reports in action today. Check out the Twitter search for #wxreport to see how much snow fell from a winter storm that’s hit much of the U.S. We can’t help but wonder what this search will look like once spring rolls around and the severe weather season kicks off. Hopefully, the NWS has the tools in place to handle a high volume of tweets and an effective way of dismissing hashtag spam and other Twitter nuisances. The National Weather Service program demonstrates how powerful geolocation on Twitter can be, and we can’t help but wonder what else will be created with geolocated tweets. Look for even more creative uses of geolocation throughout 2010. jared smith Facebook is Becoming Less Personal and More Pro… Tags:#twitter#web Guide to Performing Bulk Email Verification The Dos and Don’ts of Brand Awareness Videos Related Posts A Comprehensive Guide to a Content Audit
